I've received many emails from people who were having trouble installing PPF patches for Halo Trial, so I decided to make a program to simplify it as much as possible. With a PPF mod designed for this program is installed, it as easy to do as double-click the PPF and press 'Apply'. The way it does this is by reading a few extra tags placed inside the PPF file. To make it easier to make your own PPF's for use with this program, I integrated the ability to make PPF's into it.
Currently KHT is far from finished, but it has enough functionality to go into public beta testing. Some of the upcoming features are; auto-updating, full integration of the ApplyPPF and MakePPF functions (allowing progress bars and better error catching), recently used PPF's list, track installed mods, and a full help file integrated into the program. Also, I will continue to cleanup and tweak it's interface.
I'd love to hear any questions or comments you may have about the program, just leave them in the forums. You can also check the KHT Help page. The help page is under construction and will be updated as question arise.
UPDATE (Sun, May 8th): KHT v0.1 has been released. It fixes a few bugs in the previous version. Currently an upgrade patch isn't available (the patch wasn't properly registering everything). I'll work on releasing a working patch as soon as possible.
UPDATE (Sat, April 16th): A forum user pointed out that the installer for KHT would only work on Windows XP with SP2 (thanks mannu687). I spent most of yesterday playing around with various installers. Some had a really nice look to the installers (very graphical), but they jacked the file size up a good bit. I ended up going for Windows Installer, it's kinda plain, but the file size is almost half of the other installers (a courtesy to those unfortunate souls still shackled to a 56K modem). The new installer which is only one file, instead of three zipped up like before, weighs in at only 1.4mb. I'm now proud to say it's verified to work on Windows XP with SP1 or SP2. If you use it successfully on any other systems (or have any problems at all) please post it on our forums.
UPDATE: A forum user
notified me that the Ghost Mod packaged with KHT wasn't working (thanks
luke1264). I rebuilt the mod and tested it, so it now works. I've
updated the KHT Setup, and if you've installed KHT already I made a small
self-extracting patch to replace the mod.
